We are so excited to be hosting our 2023 Mid Year Showcase on Saturday 6th of May. We will be holding a performance to showcase our amazing competition teams for 2023, this will be there first time performing before we go head first into the year with our competitions, it is a show not to be missed!

We will also be showcasing our solo/duo competition students who work hard over the term to learn routines to represent CAPA at competitions at multiple locations over the year. We are so excited & proud of our students, we can't wait for you to see all the hard work they have already put in over 11 weeks of practice!

We are excited to announce that we will be holding an Open Senior Workshop Day with well known choreographers from across the Gold Coast, providing our dancers with multiple styles & fresh new combo's in every style.

We have hand selected these choreographers to provide our dancers with the best quality teachers, with some of our guests recently returning from professional work internationally.

It will be a whole day filled with fun, games & a wide variety of dance styles to try out! This is a great opportunity for your child to try out multiple styles of dance in one day & make some new friends before the school term starts, We would love to see you there!

Workshops are catered for students 5-10 years and is $80 for the day.

Bailey Clune is a graduated student of CAPA & we are so excited to have him back at the CAPA studios for a Workshop before he leaves to dance full time at Brent Street in Sydney! He is incredibly booked & busy, so we are so lucky to have him join us for this workshop for dancers aged 10+ years.

Currumbin Academy of Performing Arts Extension programs are auditioned-based programs catered specifically for students who are looking to develop their dance technique & performance skills further. This program provides focussed training in ballet, lyrical and jazz technique, flexibility & conditioning, as well as performance based training and experience, with students participating in group performances at various competitions and community events.

Currumbin Academy Of Performing Arts will be hosting a stretch class for our CAPA Mums & dancers to come together to have some morning tea + be involved in a stretch class hosted by Miss Kimmy. Your ticket will be valid for 1 x parent + 1 x student & will include a morning tea with the class. This is a CAPA event for students within our CAPA Studios.

9:00am-9:45am - Class 1 (8 yrs and under dancers + mums)
9:45am-10:45am - Morning Tea for everyone
10:45am-11:30am - Class 2 (9 yrs and up dancers + mums)

Acrobatics intensives with our Acrobatics Specialist Miss Jasmin. Intensives will be split by skill level, allowing dancers to workshop specific skills that they have been working towards.

Workshops are open to all dancers, and students do not need to dance at CAPA to attend.

Intensives are offered in 3 levels:
BEGINNER - Anyone can join! It is helpful if the student can do a cartwheel at this level, but not absolutely necessary

INTERMEDIATE - For students who can currently do walkovers and handsprings

ADVANCED - For students who can currently do either a back handspring or an aerial and front handspring

Samuel Dominic is a highly sought after choreographer and teacher, who was an integral part of the start of our CAPA Extension Program, and after his move to Sydney has been very missed within our CAPA family.

"Samuel Dominic is a classically trained Contemporary and Lyrical choreographer that works with dancers to build a strong technical foundation that will allow them to perform to their fullest potential. Training under the guidance of Sonja Middelbosch, Sam has gone to work with Royal Carabbean and Norweigan Cruise Lines. As a well sought after Choreographer and Coach within Australia his vision is to inspire each student to explore their creativity within the Contemporary and Lyrical genres."

We are very excited to have Sam returning to offer a workshop with our CAPA students! We do anticipate these workshops to sell out, so please book early to avoid disappointment!

Workshops will be held on Thursday, 7th July 4:00pm-7:00pm with the following age groups:

4:00pm-5:00pm - 8-10 yrs

5:00pm-6:00pm - 10-12 yrs

6:00pm-7:00pm - 13+ yrs
